What's the Mesmer's counter to Spell breaker?
How does a Mesmer counter this spell? It completely shuts us down so surely they wouldn't put in a spell that has no counter.
I've tried to find a removal spell that is a Hex but can't. Not in Mesmer skills nor Monk ones (my secondary).
Is there a counter to this spell? I hope so.

Chilblains, Well of the Profane or Nature's Renewal are your only options off the top of my head. Any removal that isn't targetted will work. Unfortunately, Mesmers don't have any of those, which is what makes Spell Breaker worth the Elite

Then you have the skill factor and lag factor, where if you have the connection, the free-lag, and the skill, you might be able to pull off a interrupt. I'd estimate that if this game survives a few years down the road, the pros will eventually have those reflexes, though being consistant about it is another thing by itself.

Blah. What skills are those? I must have those skills! Might actually use my secondary class for something.
And yah I realize that you can interrupt them but sometimes it's hard to keep tabs on who's casting what, especially on a team that has more than one monk (IE everyone of them).

Well of the Profane is a Necromancer skill, while Nature's Renewal belongs to the Rangers. Here's what I see are the benefits of each over the other:
Well of the Profane > Nature's Renewal- Well of the Profane, even with its attribute at level 0, lasts almost the entire charge time. At level 0, Nature's Renewal lasts half its recharge time.
- Well of the Profane does not rely on a spirit that can be killed.
- Well of the Profane has a shorter casting time.
- Nature's Renewal is a Nature Ritual and, IIRC, those give you a 5% DP when you cast them. I could be wrong, though. Either way, Well of the Profane does not do this.
- Well of the Profane strips enchantments from your enemies only. It also prevents more from being added to begin with, as compared to extending the cast time like Nature's Renewal.
- Well of the Profane uses a corpse, and thus can appear in the middle of combat, even if you're ranged. Nature's Renewal spawns a spirit right next to you.
- Well of the Profane uses a corpse, thus preventing your enemies from using it.
- Well of the Profane does not remove hexes from your enemies.
- Well of the Profane does not slow down your party's hexes and enchantments.
Nature's Renewal > Well of the Profane- Nature's Renewal does not use a corpse. This conserves them for other necro spells. It also allows you to cast it before you kill things.
- Nature's Renewal lasts far longer than Well of the Profane.
- Nature's Renewal removes hexes from your allies.
- Nature's Renewal costs a lot less energy than Well of the Profane.
- I believe that Nature's Renewal has a larger range than Well of the Profane.
There might be more things to list, but I can't think of them just yet.

I liked that monk skill, it really does shut down mesmers since all their hex or enchantment breakers are spells and gets countered, this games class balance becomes more and more visible..except rangers, they are balanced but so unwanted by teams in PvP and even PvE missions...people underestimate their team abilites too much.
Anyway I don't want to drag this off-topic, the best way I see to counter this is by using necro or ranger skills but don't change class just because of 1 skill. If you want to change then look at the rangers wilderness set of skills like traps and DoT damage skills + rituals or a Necro for more of health steal, weakining and enchantment hater path.
If you don't want to change professions then I dont really see much options apart from preventing him using it and using signets like signet of humility but thats not efficient since you got to keep casting it.
One more point before I finish this post, having that spell breaker on a warrior can make him go untouched through elementalist and mesmers and do some serious damage without being targeted...this is where a ranger can come in and hit some pin-down, interuptions skills and dot damages..rangers can be really good for situational purposes too :P

Very true. Rangers are narrow, but their amazingly efficient at disruption+damage. The problem is that so many people play Rangers that the chances of finding a good Ranger player are low. It's not easy to time interrupts, and it's even harder building a damage+interrupt bot with so much of the good stuff coming in the late stages of the game(Rangers possibly have the best selection of Elite skills out of all classes). It'll take time for people to evolve out and see that Warriors and Eles arent everything.

I'll be changing to a Ranger sub class in the near future so I can get that nature of renewal (or whatever it was called) spell.
Hopefully then I can be rid of spell breaker once and for all.
I loathe that spell. I can't do anything when it's cast and the monk may as well be invincible as normal weapons don't do enough damage.

Signet of Humility.
They'll use Spell Breaker once, and never again if you're quick about using the signet repeatedly.

But see, the interrupt/reflex/micro factor of the game is 50% skill based. The other half is lag based, and while this game doesn't lag that much, your skill can only carry out as fast as the lag lets you.
